This 2 Years Old Child's Hand Become Bruise After Being Bitten by This at Daycare Center

At that time, Kiley Cook, 2 years old girl was running around and playing in a daycare center in Grand bury, Texas, till the unexpected happened. Kiley bitten by a copperhead snake which makes rushed to the hospital. Her hands became black as far as some of his fingers. Additionally her arm also swell.

Authorized person at the daycare said that they always scan the field first, where the children play, for make sure the field is free from the snake, before letting children play there. The daycare have never experienced something like this for 18 years since the first time the daycare opened.  

After the incident, the competent authorities in daycare was assured reporters that they take extra steps to give greater security to the child. They plan to create a mesh fence that snakes can not enter into a children's area. Finally, Kiley Cook is declared recovered from the snake bite. Even so, this incident would raise awareness about the possibility of a snake bite and the importance of taking precautions.

Snake bite in US

Based on data from University of Florida Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, there are about 7,000 to 8,000 people are bitten by snakes every year in the United States. Although it is rare, but you can also become a victim or someone who with you becoming a victim of snake bites. There are some immediate actions that you can take to reduce the side effects of the snake bite.
  1. Try to stay calm, do not panic. Because if you panic, it will cause an increase in heart rate. This can make the snake toxins spreads in the body more quickly.
  2. Remove rings, bracelets or other things that are inherent in the affected limb snake bites. Because if left unchecked will cause swelling.
  3. Cover the wound with a loose bandage. 
  4. Do not drink caffeine, because it also can accelerate the absorption of toxins in the body.
  5. Find more help as soon as possible. Because the only cure for snakebites is antivenom.

Keep your backyard from snake 

By keeping your backyard from snakes, it's mean that you also give the best efforts to maintain the safety of your family. Here are ways that you can try. 
  1. Learn about your area. What kinds of snakes that potentially live in the around of your area? Find out their habits, to where they were hiding.
  2. Keep your backyard clean and tidy. Do not leave any piles of leaves, tree branches, firewood. Clean all. Do not forget to cut the grass.
  3. Get rid of annoying pests in the yard, such as mice. If you have a problem with a mouse, it could potentially also to invite the snakes.
  4. Cover the hole in the yard. Holes in your yard could be a nest of snakes. For that you have to close it. Close all holes, even if the hole is small.
